Drum it out

Kirsty qualified as a Rhythm2Recovery facilitator in June 2019, and has since completed a “Healing drum” course with renowned drum circle and rhythm expert Christine Stevens of Upbeat Drum Circles. Both approaches encourage inclusive participation as a non talking therapy, with a focus on drumming for wellness.

Drumming has many benefits. Drum circle participation can

  • Reduce tension, anxiety and stress

  • Help control chronic pain

  • Boost the immune system

  • Release negative feelings, blockages and emotional trauma

  • Create a sense of connectedness with self and others

  • Help us experience being in resonance with the natural rhythms of life

  • Provide a medium for individual self-realization (Quote from Project Resiliency)

So drumming has therapeutic, life quality and community effects.
